Excursions

Daily and half daily excursions will give you the opportunity to better get to know your surroundings and will provide you with new experiences.

The Isla del Cano, which belongs to the National Park, and which is only 20 km away, is the ideal place for diving and snorkeling. During the passage dolphins and wales are often to be seen.

The Corcovado National Park is world-famous for its biodiversity and only a boat passage away. The San Pedrillo Park station can be reached walking in ca 3 hours, too. You can take a refreshing bath in the pool beneath the waterfall with the same name and you will learn about the flora and fauna on your walk to and from. Corcovado is only part of the rainforest. The population near the National Park is very engaged in the protection of Nature. Therefore they decided to open their private reservations to visitors. with the same or very similar flora and fauna as the Corcovado National Park, this is a popular alternative to the sometimes crowded walking pathes of the National Park.

The river Rio Claro that passes through those reservations offers plenty of bathing fun.

At the same time, a visitor gets to know the local population and supports through his visits their striving for the protection of the Nature.

Not only by foot but on horseback, too, this region can be reached.

The Vista al Mar Lodge can only be reached by foot, by boat or by horse. To get to know the interior, it’s useful to take a guided horse tour. The riding of the well maintained and trained horses needs no prior experience.

The half a day or day long horse tours along the coast are very interesting, too.

Not far from the Lodge flows the river Rio Agujita, whose source is situated in the Corcovado National Park. This river got a healthy and plentiful fish stock and invites you to go fishing. After bathing in one of those beautiful bathing spots the visitor should rest on a sunny sandbank and enjoy his catch.

Tours into the mangrove forests, night tours, dolphin and wale seeing tours and a canopy tour start from nearby. The tours have experienced guides and the necessary equipment will be provided for. The daylong tours all include a picnic.
