How to get there: By car you reach theBahia Drake via the Pan Americana through Carthago, San Isidro, and Palmar Norte to Sierpe. It’s a very nice drive through coffee-, sugar cane-, and pineapples plantations. Duracion approximately 5 - 6 hours. In Sierpe you can park your car. From there you can travel by boat through the spectacular mangrove forest (80 minutes). The alternative is to go by car direct to the Bahia Drake (via Palmar Norte and Charcarita. There you can park your car, too. By bus you go from San Jose (bus station Alfaro) via Cerro de Muerto to Palmar Norte (seven hours, ticket reservation two hours in advance). From Palmar Norte you go by taxi to Sierpe and from there by boat to Drake. (Reservations through us) By plane, you can reach the Bahia Drake from San Jose in 40 minutes. The Bahia Drake got its own airport. You can fly from the international airport with Sansa airline or with Travelair from Pavas (San Jose). |
